Barry Hartglass is best known for his can-do enthusiasm and uncompromising personal support. He believes strongly in creative flow and mental dedication to the creative process.
For decades, I’ve been working as a producer, engineer, composer, arranger, and musician. I’m usually working in my home studio in Carmel, New York, with a collection of eclectic instruments, inspirational books I love to recommend, and three cats (with minimal creative input). I travel to Hofstra University, Mercy College and Hostos Community College as an adjunct professor, and sometimes record at commercial studios in New York City and throughout the Tri-state Area.
My personal music dips into contemporary classical, jazz and world influences, but as a producer I prefer to experience the variety of styles and hybrids unique to each of my clients. Everything is welcome in my studio except doubt. My goal is not just to make music, but to make music that makes you a more confident and prolific artist. My greatest work with clients has been in learning to ask the right questions, and to hold ourselves accountable in finding the most fulfilling musical answers.
